Objective

This unit will introduce you to Google Analytics, a free service from Google which allows to you follow the web traffic for your journal. You will also learn how to combine Google Analytics with OJS to provide a powerful software combination that will provide crucial details about your online readers.

Readings

For this unit, please read the Google Analytics section in the OJS User Guide.

After that, read through the documentation provided by Google, outlining how their product works. You will simply be enabling it in OJS, but will actually be getting your reports from Google, and working in their system.

 

Activity

For this activity, you will first need to create your own Google Analytics account, get the tracking code from your Google Analytics account, and then add the tracking code to OJS.

  3. Both tools are easy, with this plugin we can get a lot of information about our journal, now i have a new answer for editors when they need information about articles and submissions.
