Course Instructor

Welcome to OJS for Journal Managers! If you feel comfortable doing so, please post a brief description of yourself in the comment box below. If not, that’s OK — its not a requirement.

My name is Kevin Stranack, and I have been working on community education for the Public Knowledge Project since 2005.

My specialization is adult education, and I received my Master of Adult Education from the University of Regina in 2013. I’m also a librarian, and received my Master of Library and Information Studies from the University of British Columbia in 2002. I have worked as a reference, instructional, and systems librarian at a variety of public and academic libraries, including at Simon Fraser University, the development home of OJS and the Public Knowledge Project.

Please feel free to contact me via email ( or skype (kstranack) at anytime during the course with any questions or concerns that come up.

I’m looking forward to working with you!

  2. Welcome Carlos! Thanks for sharing the link to your journal — it looks very interesting. Good luck with the course and let me know if you have any questions.

  3. Hello Kevin and other members, my name is Carlos from Spain, and I’m technical assistants in the financial and account department at the Technical University of Cartagena. We have recently started to publish a journal and this is the second year and we’re finishing the fourth number. Now I’m the new management and I would like to improve our review ( The next step I want to do is to activate the refback system, and configure it properly.

    Thanks a lot for PKP.
